Kyler Murray could be headed back to the city he last played in.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. released his first NFL mock draft Thursday, and he has the former Oklahoma quarterback slotted to the Miami Dolphins with the 13th pick in the first round.
“The Dolphins need to rebuild,” Kiper wrote. “What better way to start that rebuild than to take the Heisman Trophy winner? Now, just because Murray has entered the draft doesn’t mean he’s sticking to football. He could still back out and play baseball. But I’m treating him as if he’s all-in for now.”
Cody Ford is projected to be the first Sooner taken. Kiper projects the Jacksonville Jaguars to select Ford, who can play tackle or guard, with the seventh pick in the draft.

Kiper slotted former OU receiver Marquise Brown to the Oakland Raiders with the 24th pick in the first round.
“He can run every route, and he’s tremendous after the catch,” Kiper wrote. “Size is the question, as he’s only 5-foot-9, 168 pounds. He is more in the mold of John Ross, who went in the top 10 in the 2017 draft, than a typical No. 1 receiver. But he can be a downfield threat for Derek Carr.”
The NFL draft will be held April 25-27 in Nashville, Tennessee.
