Sooners Ready for Arkansas – The Official Site of Oklahoma Sooner Sports

NORMAN The Oklahoma women’s tennis crew is set for a street clash with Arkansas Sunday. Initial serve at the Billingsley Tennis Centre is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT.

Last Time Out

In its last weekend of level of competition, OU (3-1) defeated Winthrop 4- right before narrowly slipping to then-No. 2 Vanderbilt 4-3 at ITA Kickoff Weekend in Memphis.

Versus Winthrop, OU picked up the doubles stage with wins from Jasmine Asghar and Ivana Corley at the major place and Kianah Motosono and Olekdandra Korasvili on courtroom a few. In singles, Corley cruised to a 6-, 6-2 victory on courtroom 5, while Camila Romero got a 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 3 place. Freshman Motosono clinched the match for OU, successful 6-1, 6-1 on courtroom 6.

The Sooners opened the Vanderbilt contest with the doubles stage. Korashvili and Motosono once more captured the stage for OU, holding on for a 7-6 (5) victory at the No. 3 place. Two Sooners notched singles victories. At the No. 2 line, Korashvili surprised No. 15 Christina Rosca in a few sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Asghar manufactured quick perform of No. 71 Carolyn Campana on courtroom four, successful 6-, 6-2.

Korashvili Named Large 12 Player of the Week

Junior Korashvili earned Large 12 Player of the Week accolades for her performances versus Vanderbilt and Winthrop.

The award marked the initially vocation honor for Korashvili, who manufactured her OU debut this spring. She results in being OU’s initially Large 12 Player of the Week because Whitney Ritchie in 2014.

Scouting Arkansas
