NORMAN – The Oklahoma women’s tennis team hits the road for the final time this fall for the Kitty Harrison Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina.
The tournament field includes competition from 14 schools in a mock dual format.
Eight Sooners will compete in the tournament: Camila Romero, Martina Capurro, Skyler Miller, Jasmine Asghar, Alli Hodges, Kianah Motosono, Laura Rico-Garcia and Ivana Corley.
OU saw great success in its most recent tournament, with sophomore Romero going undefeated to win the Flight 2 singles title, as well as the Flight 2 doubles title with Martina Capurro at the Marliss Gruver Memorial Tournament hosted by Auburn. With their doubles victory, Capurro and Romero improved to 8-2 on the year.
Also at the Marliss Gruver Memorial Tournament, Capurro won her respective flight’s consolation final, while Motosono and Rico-Garcia took third place in each of their draws.
In their last competition, Asghar and Corley made a run to the doubles quarterfinal at the ITA Central Region Championships.
Tournament action is set to begin Friday at 8 a.m. CT with doubles.
