CLEARWATER, Fla. – No. 3 Oklahoma improved to 7- on the year with a pair of wins Thursday in the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational.
In the Sooners’ to start with match Thursday, Caleigh Clifton and Sydney Romero experienced massive times at the plate as OU belted No. 18 Kentucky, 9-1.
Clifton homered, tripled and walked twice. The next baseman from Wayne scored three operates in the match and experienced two RBI.
3rd baseman Sydney Romero homered and doubled while knocking in 4 operates versus Kentucky. She also scored twice.
Setting up OU pitcher Mariah Lopez (3-) authorized just two hits, which include a solo homer, in the match. Shannon Saile received the remaining two outs for the Sooners in the circle.
In the next match, the Sooners defeated Notre Dame 6-2 as Gisselle Juarez picked up the get in the circle. Raegan Rogers and Grace Lyons both homered for OU in the match.
Shay Knighten was 2-of-3 with a double and an RBI and Falepolima Aviu also experienced an RBI double.
On Friday, OU faces Florida Atlantic at 9 a.m. just before conference defending national champion Florida State at midday.
