“Have I thought about it some traveling, doing all this stuff? Sure. Sure I have,” Riley said Wednesday. “But I know I don’t have to make a decision right now. I know that things are going to continue to evolve and change, both in our program and on the outside that could have effects on that. But generally speaking, do I know what I’m looking for? Yes.”
Decommitments not always the end
For the second time in three seasons, Oklahoma signed a player who had been committed to the Sooners, decommitted, and then decided in the end to choose Oklahoma again.
Two years ago, it was wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. This year, it was another wide receiver, Theo Wease Jr.
“We try not to get too emotionally up or down,” Riley said. “Recruiting is like a game. You can’t get down in the first quarter and lose your mind. You have to keep playing and keep swinging.
“We’ve been able to keep our poise in those situations and continue to have the belief that our place is the best place for them.”
