NORMAN – Oklahoma women’s golf took third place at the Magnolia Invitational after Tuesday’s round was canceled due to heavy rain. The Sooners finished with a 36-hole total of 579 (+3) at the par-72, 6,320-yard Old Waverly Golf Club in Starkville, Miss.

Kennesaw State won the event with a two-day score of 571 (-5).

Sophomore Kaitlin Milligan finished tied for sixth with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2), marking her second top-10 finish of the season. The sophomore fired a 1-under 71 in both rounds to record the third best finish of her career.

Freshman Libby Winans finished in a tie for 10th place at 143 (-1). The rookie has picked up back-to-back top-10 finishes in her early collegiate career.

Sophomore Hannah Lee posted a 146 (+2) to finish the tournament tied for 22nd and fellow sophomore Sydney Youngblood finished tied for 30th at 148 (+4).

Mikhaela Fortuna finished tied for 45th with a 151 (+7) in her first collegiate start for the Sooners.

The Oklahoma women’s golf team returns to play on Oct. 28th when they compete at the Jim West Challenge in San Marcos, Texas. The Sooners took second place at the event last year posting their second-lowest 54-hole score in program history.
