Sooner bowl outlook: Oct. 25

NORMAN, Okla. — The Sooners are now bowl eligible, No. 8 in both the Associated Press and Amway Coaches Polls, and each week on out for the rest of the season, will update the most likely bowl scenarios for them. To get where they want to, they’ll have to take care of a Kansas State Wildcats team this weekend at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

“It’s similar in a lot of ways,” said head coach Lincoln Riley on Kansas State’s defense to their past units. “Very, very typical, which is a big compliment, extremely physical. You know, they’ve done a really good job. They’ve had one game this year where they struggled to defend the run. Other than that, they’ve really done a good job in the run game. They’ve held down some really good offenses, like they tend to do.

“They know what they’re doing. They’re extremely sound. They’re extremely physical with a ton of experience in the back end and an elite pass rusher. So, I mean, it’s always challenging when you play them, every single time, because they just don’t make mistakes and they know what they’re doing, they’re so well coached, they play so hard and physical that if you’re going to make plays, you better make them.

So now, without further ado, let’s look at all the possibilities.
