NORMAN — Oklahoma senior guard Ty Lazenby will sit out this season and redshirt, coach Lon Kruger said Monday.
“He’s working hard and doing a good job,” Kruger said. “Just with our numbers, it just makes sense.”
The Sooners, one of the oldest teams in college basketball, will lose five scholarship seniors after this season.
Lazenby transferred to OU before last season from Northern Oklahoma College in Enid.
The Glencoe native played in 26 games last season for the Sooners. He scored 15 points with 16 rebounds.
Oklahoma (9-1) hosts Creighton at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lloyd Noble Center.
