Oklahoma will learn its starting point when the College Football Playoff Top 25 poll is released on Tuesday night.
The Sooners (7-1) are ranked No. 7 in both the Associated Press and Amway Coaches Top 25 polls.
The 2018 inaugural CFP poll will be released at 6 p.m. during an ESPN broadcast.
This is the fifth year of the CFP structure, which determines the four schools which compete in a season-ending playoff to determine the national champion.
Oklahoma director of athletics Joe Castiglione is on the 13-person selection committee. When his school is discussed, he must leave the room along with fellow member Frank Beamer. The former Virginia Tech coach is the father of OU assistant coach Shane Beamer.
Oklahoma advanced to the CFP in 2015 and 2017.
In 2015, the Sooners started at No. 15 and ended at No. 4. OU lost to top-seed Clemson in the Orange Bowl.
In 2017, OU began at No. 5 and moved to No. 2. Oklahoma fell to No. 3 Georgia in double overtime at the Rose Bowl.
OU will face Texas Tech on Saturday night. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
