NORMAN – The Oklahoma women’s tennis team concluded the fall season with the Norman Open.
“This tournament was a huge opportunity for our players to compete against professional players and represent our program at a high level,” said head coach Audra Cohen. A $25k men’s and women’s pro event, the Norman Open was the first-ever joint pro circuit tennis tournament to be held in the state of Oklahoma.
Two Sooners grabbed wins in qualifying. Skyler Miller defeated Italy’s Federica Denti, 7-6 94), 6-1, in the opening round. Freshman Ivana Corley knocked out Maribella Zamarripa (USA), 6-4, 7-5.
OU alum Lily Miyazaki was also in action at the tournament, making a run to the semifinals.

The Sooners will return to action in January for spring duals. A schedule will be released at a later date.
