It was a Baker Mayfield type of day for the Browns on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, as Cleveland was on its an annual visit to Cincy in Week 12. Mayfield continued his stellar play and threw four touchdowns to just seven incompletions in the big win over their divisional, in-state rivals. Among the Bengals on the sideline was Cleveland’s former head coach, Hue Jackson.
Nothing I will say here hasn’t likely already been said of Mayfield and Jackson’s interaction post-game across the airwaves and social media through Monday. So, I’ll just let Baker’s play do the driving in this post.
By now you’ve probably read about Baker’s 258 yards on 19-26 passing and four touchdowns in a dominant, outright flashy performance against the Bengals. Why not just sit back and enjoy the highlights?
The accolades undoubtedly, and deservedly, flowed soon after about the young QB’s Week 12 outing. The Baker Mayfield era is just beginning in Cleveland, and I’m very thankful we’re all here for it.
Baker Mayfield is first rookie quarterback in NFL history to record a 140+ passer rating in consecutive games (minimum 20 attempts).

Hue Jackson and Todd Haley were fired after Week 8. Best passer rating in the NFL since Week 9:

Baker was part of the Cavs’ crowd at Quicken Loans Arena for the game on Monday night and received a shout for his recent heroics, as well. It looks like Cleveland’s quickly becoming Baker’s town, after all.
Joe Mixon rushed for 89 yards on 14 carries and added 66 yards on seven receptions on the other side for the Bengals. Teammate Jordan Evans finished with three solo and three assisted tackles for Cincinnati.
Mark Andrews caught one pass for 74 yards in the Ravens’ win over the Raiders. The pass from fellow rookie Lamar Jackson almost resulted in a score, but the 2017 Mackey Award winner fell just short of the end zone. I’m sure there’ll be a few more chances at pay dirt for what could be one of the NFL’s up-and-coming young QB-TE duos.
Tony Jefferson grabbed a tackle and defended a pass in the win for the Ravens.
