MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The end of Oklahoma’s season signals decision time for players who might leave early and declare for the NFL draft. Junior receiver Marquise Brown and junior right tackle Cody Ford are two Sooners likely to jump to the next level.
Both are projected as possible first-round selections in the 2019 NFL Draft, but neither was ready to publicize a decision after Oklahoma’s 45-34 loss to Alabama in the Orange Bowl.
“I ain’t got no timeline, man,” Brown said. “Just sit down and reflect on our season. Try to get healthy and when the time comes, sit down with my family.”
Brown was held without a catch on five targets Saturday night. He was hampered by a pulled muscle in his left foot and sat out for a large chunk of the second half.
Ford said he hasn’t made a decision on his future at OU.
“We’re just minutes out of this game and this is the only thing on my mind right now, knowing that this is the last time I wear the Sooners jersey this year and you never know, it could’ve been the last one forever,” Ford said.
