Each week the Horns247 staff tackles the Question of the Week, where we provide answers to Longhorn specific topics.
This week’s question comes after Texas posted win No. 8 on the season in a 24-10 rout over No. 16 ranked Iowa State, which happened at a clutch time for the program after Oklahoma State upset West Virginia and moved the Longhorns to being one win away from making their long-awaited return to play in the Big 12 Championship game.
“I said the big picture doesn’t matter, never has in this program,” second-year head coach Tom Herman said of his message to the team when the Longhorns learned the Iowa State game would determine their Big 12 title hopes.
“And the big picture certainly won’t matter if we don’t win this game. So they were aware of it, but I think we got them dialed back in very quickly.”
Texas has a hold of its own destiny this week as the Longhorns prepare to head to Lawrence to face Kansas in a game that will determine Tom Herman and his team’s fate for the conference title game.
