Former Oklahoma stars Keilani Ricketts and Shelby Pendley are among the 18 players who will represent the USA Softball Women’s National Team in 2019.
The team will compete in select tournaments in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Ricketts and Pendley helped lead the Sooners to the 2013 national championship. They’re now teammates for the USSSA Pride in National Pro Fastpitch.
Ricketts pitched at OU from 2010-13. She compiled a 125-35 record with a 1.23 ERA. She was a career .334 hitter with 47 home runs.
Pendley, an infielder, was a career .384 hitter at Arizona in 2012 and Oklahoma from 2013-15. She hit 84 collegiate home runs while driving in 269 runs.
Former OU volunteer assistant Janie Reed also made the national team.
“This was without a question the most competitive trials that USA Softball has had in many years,” national team coach Ken Eriksen said. “The level of talent was undeniable and without question some of the best in the world.”
The roster will be trimmed to 15 players for the Pan American Games in late July.
