NORMAN — The Oklahoma softball team wraps up its fall exhibition slate on Sunday, traveling to Fayetteville, Ark., for a doubleheader against Arkansas.
The Sooners and the Razorbacks will face off at 12 and 2 p.m. CT. Fans can get more information on admission on Arkansas’ website.
OU and Arkansas last met in the 2018 NCAA Norman Super Regional with OU claiming a pair of wins, 7-2 and 9-0.
OU Opens Fall Ball 6-0
The Sooners are currently 6-0 in fall exhibition play. They opened the fall season with four wins at the annual Oklahoma Softball Fall Festival: 13-1 over Butler Community College, 11-1 over Trinity Valley Community College, 10-0 over Seminole State and 22-1 over Northern Oklahoma.
Most recently, the Sooners defeated North Texas 9-3 on Oct. 11 in Denton, Texas, before downing North Central Texas College 19-0 on Oct. 17.
The Sooners finished the 2018 season with a nation-leading 57-5 record, making their 12th appearance at the Women’s College World Series. Oklahoma is the seven-time defending Big 12 champion, a run never before seen in the conference, after sweeping the regular season and tournament titles last year.
OU returns two First-Team All-Americans in senior infielder Sydney Romero and sophomore utility player Jocelyn Alo. In addition to Romero and Alo, returning All-Region honorees include seniors Shay Knighten and Caleigh Clifton and junior Nicole Mendes.
Along with 13 returning student-athletes, Oklahoma welcomes seven newcomers in transfers Shannon Saile and Berkley Faulkner and a five-person freshman class: Grace Green, Audrie LaValley, Grace Lyons, Sami Skelly and Brooke Vestal.
