Three-star defensive end Kori Roberson officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday. Roberson, a Manvel, TX native, committed to OU back on February 18, 2018, a day after he attended junior day in Norman. Prior to signing, he also held offers from a number of top programs including Alabama, Georgia, and LSU.
Roberson is currently rated as the No. 33 SDE in the class of 2019 and the No. 480 recruit overall in 247Sports composite rankings. Listed at 6’3” 273 pounds, his home appears to be closer to the inside. Roberson is a player who will be a welcome addition to an OU pass rush that has lacked consistency over the past few years. Oklahoma has a history of developing an elite DL, and Roberson will look to establish himself as the next in that lineage.
Even if he takes a redshirt or plays in a limited role in 2019, Roberson is absolutely a player that can be a defensive playmaker for multiple seasons.
