College Sports: Oklahoma’s national bowl projections: Could the Sooners get a rematch with Georgia in the Sugar Bowl?

Oklahoma is still in recovery mode after losing to Texas at the Cotton Bowl earlier this season, but its bowl hopes are still well within reach.

The Sooners enter the week at No. 8 in the AP Top 25 and remain comfortably in the running for both the College Football Playoff and, failing that, a New Year’s Six bowl game.

All eight of the major bowl projection sites have the Sooners reaching at least a NY6 game — three of the services have a rematch with Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.

Just one outlet, Sports Illustrated, believes in the Sooners enough to project a return trip to the College Football Playoff.

Here are Oklahoma’s bowl projections heading into the weekend:

ESPN: Fiesta Bowl vs LSU (Kyle Bonagura) and Fiesta Bowl vs UCF (Mitch Sherman)

Orlando Sentinel: Fiesta Bowl vs Wisconsin

SB Nation: Sugar Bowl vs Georgia

USA Today: Sugar Bowl vs Georgia

Sporting News: Fiesta Bowl vs Florida

CBS Sports: Sugar Bowl vs LSU

Sports Illustrated: CFP semi-final vs Alabama (Cotton Bowl)

Bleacher Report: Sugar Bowl vs Georgia
