Aledo running back Jase McClellan is one of the best prospects in the 2020 class and gave Oklahoma an early commitment.
He talks about his commitment status, OU’s season and which schools are trying to pry him away in this Q&A with The Dallas Morning News.
DMN: You had a monster performance against Lovejoy with more than 300 yards. Can you just talk about that and helping your team move on?
JM: It feels great knowing that we are going to the next round. We have to go into the week preparing our team. Getting another win and moving closer to a state championship is our goal. We want to get it for our seniors.
DMN: You made a really early commitment to Oklahoma. Where do things stand now?
JM: I’m 100 percent solid to Oklahoma. I haven’t really been talking to anybody else. I’m staying with them. The program and the coaches are great down there, and it’s close to home.
DMN: OU is playing in the Big 12 title game this weekend. How impressed have you been with the Sooners’ season?
JM: I’ve been really impressed. The running game has been great. Kennedy Brooks is doing his thing up there and showing me that I can do the same thing when I get up there.
DMN: What are your thoughts on the job Lincoln Riley has done in Norman so far?
JM: I think he’s doing a great job with the team. He’s a great coach and a great person. He loves the game of football.
DMN: When do you plan on getting back to Oklahoma?
JM: Probably in the spring. Maybe for the spring game.
DMN: Are there any other schools you want to visit in the offseason?
JM: I might visit Texas. I’m planning on maybe taking visits to Georgia and LSU.
