Oklahoma continues to close out the 2019 recruiting class strongly, though there have been some recent setbacks.
The Sooners reached a No. 5 ranking heading into the November. But with the decommitment of top JUCO defensive end Jacoby Jones Oklahoma fell behind as rival schools have picked up commitments during their final home games of the season. Adding insult to injury Jones recently announced his commitment to Texas earlier this week.
The Sooners’ turnout for the Bedlam weekend was a massive success with committed members of the 2019 class and was a nice table-setter for the 2020 class. But there were no announced commitments or even googly eye emojis subtweets from OU coach Lincoln Riley.
However, the Sooners are still in the hunt for a 2019 defensive back, offensive tackle and defensive linemen as Early Signing Period nears. The date is Dec. 19, and OU is pushing to put together a second straight top 10 recruiting class and perhaps a top 5 class for 2019.
