NORMAN — Ana Llanusa said she’s learned plenty during her nearly two months out of the lineup with a stress fracture in her foot.
She’s learned the value of communication on the court and ways to push the buttons of her teammates to be a more effective leader, she said.
But Llanusa is ready to be back on the court, and she’s expected to return when Oklahoma opens Big 12 play against Texas Tech at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd Noble Center.
“I’m just excited to be able to be back out there with them and to compete with them,” Llanusa said.
The Sooners went 3-7 without Llanusa, though pushed No. 1 UConn to the brink on Dec. 19.
Llanusa’s foot had given her problems off and on during her high school days at Choctaw.
“It would happen just every once in awhile and it’d be there for maybe a week and then it’d go away for the rest of the season,” Llanusa said.
But then during preseason camp, Llanusa’s back started giving her problems. That injury kept her off the court for a month and when she did come back, her foot started bothering her again.
