NORMAN, Okla. — The Sooners will lose a member of their receiving corps. Redshirt junior wide out A.D. Miller intends to transfer, according to a report by WatchStadium’s Brett McMurphy. An OU source confirmed the report to OUInsider.com’s Brandon Drumm, saying, “Miller is looking to transfer and has entered his name into the NCAA transfer pool.”
Miller, a very minimal contributor this season, has caught only seven passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns. He’s averaging 8.3 yards per game, while starting four of nine games.
Including those four, he’s logged 10 career starts and played and 27 games for the Sooners. Miller has totaled 236 receiving yards and four scores on 21 catches.
He played as a true freshman in 2015, making his first career start in the Red River Showdown against Texas. From there, he participated in 12 games in 2016, then redshirted in 2017.
OU will also likely lose standout wide receiver Marquise Brown after the College Football Playoff, as he’s expected to go pro. Nick Basquine and Myles Tease will exit to graduation, but the rest of OU’s receiving group, including 1,000-yard pass catcher CeeDee Lamb will return in 2019. OU will also welcome in five-star Theo Wease and four-stars Trejan Bridges and Austin Stogner to the fold.
